A vaccine that could act as a game-changer in the field of Tuberculosis is a bit closer. A team of researchers has found a cure which could revolutionize tuberculosis treatment in form of vaccine. It is expected that this vaccine will provide long term protection against a disease that kills around 1.5 million people every year. The BCG jab is bot effective to cure the transmissible disease which is caused by the bacteria. The preliminary trial has been proved successful; however, it will take time to come in the market for patient use. The vaccine could reach the people in general market by about 2028.

Few researchers told the media that the vaccine work still requires studies that are much greater than required for viral diseases like measles. GlaxoSmithKline is working on the TV vaccine for the last 20 years. The program, this vaccine should work effectively on animals, mainly mice, pigs, guinea, and non-human primates. The tuberculosis vaccine was a challenge for the researchers. The study found that animal models often do not reveal what would like to get in an operative vaccine.

According to WHO, in 2018 around 10 million people across the world effect with TB. Moreover, one-third of the world population has covert TB infection, which means these patients carry TB bacteria in an indolent form that do not ill and transmit to other people. WHO aims to reduce the number of new Tuberculosis cause by 90 percent and the death from the same by 95 percent. The vaccine is expected to be a game-changer for TB. The number of TB patients if decreasing all over the world; that is good news, but TB is still not decreasing nearly fast enough in most of the areas, and the effective cure is still in queue. The vaccine is expected to get licensed by 2028 and it will available to the people onwards.
